The Center for Learning Differences no longer maintains this website.

After almost a decade of providing information about special education and resources for families and professionals, our largely volunteer organization is winding up its active programming. We are delighted, however, that our key projects will be continued by an organization that we have worked with in the past and that we know will provide a good home for our work – F•E•G•S Health and Human Services System.

F•E•G•S will incorporate much of the material from our website into their website which can be found at www.fegs.org. They plan to continue our Life After High School College Conference, and they will be building on the work we have done to support individual families with questions and problems regarding their child's education.

In order to be added to the mailing list for F•E•G•S and to learn about their activities as they build on the work of The Center for Learning Differences, you need to take a moment to send an email to priggio@fegs.org to provide them with your contact information. We know that you will find them to be a valuable resource.

As for us, we are not closing down completely and will be continuing our mission by working together with other organizations to study issues relating to learning and education.

We have listed a number of helpful websites that may have answers to your questions:

• For general information on learning differences, check out the website LDonline.org.
• Another source of general information, with links to numerous specific resources, is Disability.gov.
• For special education laws, advocacy advice, and other legal questions, take a look at wrightslaw.com.
• For  information about New York City Public Schools, you can use the website insideschools.org or search the website of the New York City Department of Education.
• Information and advocacy assistance for New York City families can be found through Advocates for Children. They have very helpful publications for families in several languages.
• Resources for Children with Special Needs will also assist with information and advocacy for New York City families.
• To find an attorney or advocate to help with education issues, check out the listings, by state, on the website of the Council of Parent Advocates and Attorneys.

Some organizations focused on learning and related issues have websites with specific information. These include:
